Comprehensive renovation of the former Compañía Arrendataria de Tabacos building on Via Laietana, designed by Francesc Guàrdia i Vial in 1923. The project restores and reactivates one of Barcelona's civic landmarks, transforming a long-abandoned building into the new headquarters of the City Council. Preserving the original structural typology, the intervention organises public, shared and private functions according to the building's inherent spatial hierarchy, allowing flexible and adaptable workplaces to evolve over time. The careful restoration of the historic entrance hall, together with discreet environmental upgrades and reversible interventions, ensures the building's continued civic and architectural relevance for future generations.
